Went to take off my Alumagrip grips last night on my 50GI to mount my ambi-safety. I could not find an allen wrench that was the size of the socket screws. It is between a 2 and 2.5 mm and smaller than a 3/32" and bigger than a 5/64". Anyone know what it is?
Has anyone seen any titanium screws for the grips? The screws are the only place that I have corrosion on my pistol and didn't want to have to go to shiny stainless, that just wouldn't look good on the Alumagrip grips. I have corrosion (rust for those in Memphis) down at the bottom of the allen socket.
i'm going out to the hangar this afternoon and will check my set of allens out there, maybe the set that I have here is funky.
And before anyone says it, NO THEY ARE NOT TORX.[:)] Like some of the Springfields are.
